A sequel to the 80s cartoons was The Alvin Show. The series was developed in partnership with Ruby Spears and was canceled in 1990, with 101 episodes spread over seven seasons. In Brazil, the series was shown on Rede Globo, under the name of The Chipmunks - Esquilos de Pesada. In addition, the film The Chipmunk Adventure, directed by Janice Karman and produced by the Samuel Goldwyn Company, was released. Finally, the eighth season of the series, titled The Chipmunks Go To The Movies, was released. Each episode was a parody of a Hollywood production.
